AIM OF THE PROPOSED WORK

Abstract:

With a view to protect the textile substrate itself antimicrobial finishing is applied to textile materials. Finishing achieved from polymers with antibacterial properties against several gram-positive and negative bacteria. Some of these are antistatic. 

EXPECTED RESULTS OF THE PROPOSED WORK

1.Obtaining polymers with antibacterial and/or conductive properties;

2.Characterization of electroconductive, antibacterial, antistatic  properties,

3.Deposition of this polymers  on textiles  and testing new  materials obtained.

EXPERTISE NEEDED

1. SME –  to produce the fabric and try to apply at  industrial level the finishing treatments with polymer solution achieved in the first phase of in the laboratory / to develop added value textile products;

Research center – to synthesize the polymers and to cover the textiles;

The first group company Sun Tekstil A.Ş. is founded in 1987 in Izmir, it carried out its first export in 1989. The other group company Ekoten Tekstil A.Ş., which is among the top 500 large industrial foundations (ISO 500) announced by Istanbul Chamber of Trade, supplies 20 million meters of knitted fabric to the world’s leading brands annually, is one of the largest high quality fabric production facilities in Turkey having round knitting machines and fabric dying machines. It has a daily capacity of 35 tones of dying and 25 tones of knitting. 

Sun Holding R&D department which gained “R&D Center” statue after being approved by Industry and Commerce Ministry (2009), carries out Research and Development studies with its 50 engineers located in Torbalı/İzmir integrated with group companies. The orientation of Research and Development is strongly market-driven. The main objective is its relationship with production, whether this is expressed through the delivery of pilot products (in line with customer demands, current trends in fashion and technological developments at the global scale in a way that shall leave its traces in the minds of its customers and taking into consideration the commercial success of the products) and outcomes of research projects, and proposals for commercial exploitation, or the transfer of know-how to the productive units of the Company and its subsidiaries.
